The Service Officer is at the Post every Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM. They are familiar with VA laws and regulations on the filing of claims, as well as the policies and guidelines established by the National VA & Rehabilitation Commission. They will assist all veterans, families of veterans, and in some cases, friends of veterans with the paperwork, forms, and general understanding of the VA System. They see all veterans, (or family/friends) on a first come first serve basis. So, it is best to arrive as early as you can. The Service Officer is American Legion Post 23, trained volunteers and they do NOT work for the Veterans Administration.
Remember to bring a copy of all documents that you have on your military service, including your marriage license, your spouse's Social Security number, etc.
This and all services are offered to all veterans. It is NOT a requirement but, if you use our services, we would truly appreciate you being a paid-up member of Post 23.
$37.00 per year (dues increase to $40 in July 2024)
Ask your Service Officer to sign you up.
