Veterans Helping Veterans

Service Officers

Donnie Brown, Bill Hotaling, Ron Howell

The Service Officers are at the Post every Thursday from 9 AM to 12 noon.  They are familiar with VA laws and regulations pertaining to the filing of claims, as well the policies and guidelines established by the National VA & Rehabilitation Commission.  They will assist all veterans, family of veterans, and in some cases, friends of veterans with the paperwork, forms, and general understanding of the VA System.  They see all veterans, (or family/friends) on a first come first serve basis.  So, it is best to arrive as early as you can. The Service Officers are American Legion Post 23, trained volunteers and they do NOT work for the Veterans Administration.

Remember to bring a copy of all documents that you have pertaining to your military service, including your marriage license, your spouse's Social Security number, etc.

This and all services are offered to all veterans.  It is NOT a requirement but, if you use our services, we would truly appreciate you being a paid-up member of Post 23.
